Setting The Cornerstone | Capital Campaign

“For it stands in Scripture: ‘Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.’” 1 Peter 2:6

Our “Setting the Cornerstone” capital campaign is a 40-day journey to lead our church to assess our walk with Jesus and investment in his work. Lord willing, this campaign will result in us drawing closer to God, valuing his priorities more clearly, and giving ourselves to his purposes more fully so we establish our church in our community and use our facilities to fulfill the Great Commission. We want to use our facilities as a tool to make disciples and help establish people on the one true Cornerstone for life, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are asking the people of Cornerstone to prayerfully consider how they seek, savor, serve and supply Jesus’ work during our 40-day campaign from June 28 to August 6, 2026.

Week 1 – Seeking Jesus’ Presence

Psalm 27:8, “You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, LORD, do I seek.”

Prayer Focus: How do you seek Jesus’ presence in your life?

Week 2 – Savoring Jesus’ Glory

Psalm 16:11, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Prayer Focus: How do you savor Jesus’ glory in your life?

Week 3 – Serving Jesus’ Will

John 15:10, “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.”

Prayer Focus: How do you serve Jesus’ will in your life?

Week 4 – Supporting Jesus’ Work

2 Corinthians 9:10, “He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.”

Prayer Focus: How do you support Jesus’ work financially?

THE GOAL

Our goal is to raise $300,000 over a three year period, over and above our normal operating budget. These funds will be used to pay off the mortgage debt of $675,000 early as well as provide for improvements or repairs to the current church facilities as needed.

THE WHY

Paying down the debt early saves significantly on interest, reduces our monthly payments, and frees up more money for ministry and outreach in the years ahead. At the same time, the improvements will allow us to better maintain and enhance our facilities so they can more effectively support worship, discipleship, outreach, and future generations.

THE HOW

People who would like to prayerfully make a pledge to contribute toward Setting the Cornerstone are encouraged to do so before August 6th, when the 40-day campaign concludes. All gifts and contributions to the campaign will be shared on Sunday, August 9th at our special facility dedication service.
